Civic bodies get one month to plan for plastic ban execution

PUNE: The local bodies in the state, including PMC and PCMC, just have one month to draw up a plan for effective implementation of the ban on plastic items within their jurisdiction, failing which they will face action.

प्लास्टिक व थर्माकोलच्या वस्तू वापरण्यास राज्य शासनाचे गुढीपाडव्यास (दि.18) बंदी घातली आहे. ती वापरणे, विक्री करणे आणि उत्पादन केल्यास शिक्षेची तरतूद केली आहे. याबाबत महिन्याभरात कारवाई करून शहरातील दुकानदार व उत्पादकांकडून प्लास्टिकची विल्हेवाट लावण्याबाबतचे स्पष्ट निर्देश दिले आहेत. मात्र, आठवडा उलटूनही, अद्याप पिंपरी-चिंचवड महापालिका प्रशासनाकडून कोणतीही कारवाई करण्यात आलेली नसल्याचे धक्कादायक चित्र आहे.

पिंपरी - मेट्रो रेल्वे प्रकल्पाच्या पुढील टप्प्यातील कामे सुरू करण्याच्या उद्देशाने खराळवाडी ते संत तुकारामनगर दरम्यान उभारलेल्या खांबांवर पिअर कॅप बसविण्यास गेल्या पंधरवड्यात प्राधान्य देण्यात आले. त्यामुळे खांबांवर व्हायाडक्‍ट बसविण्याचे काम लवकर पूर्ण करता येणार असल्याचे महामेट्रोच्या अधिकाऱ्यांनी शनिवारी सांगितले. पुण्यापेक्षाही पिंपरी- चिंचवडमध्ये रस्ता रुंद असल्यामुळे वाहतूक कोंडी तुलनेने कमी होते. त्यामुळे मेट्रो प्रकल्प उभारणीच्या कामाला वेग आला आहे.
