GE to set up manufacturing plant at Chakan:
Indian Express: As part of its expansion plans, GE on Friday announced it would build a first-of-its-kind manufacturing facility in Chakan, spread over 68 acres at an investment of Rs 1,000 crore. The manufacturing facility would help the company develop localised products and solutions for the energy sector in its first phase of operations that would commence in 2013. A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed in this regard between the state government and GE here on Friday.
