NH-4 road widening: NGT finds 'false' information in state agency's affidavits on tree felling

THE PUNE bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) said the affidavits submitted to it by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited (MSRDCL) contained “false” information about some of the 188 trees affected during the National Highway (NH)-4 road widening project. The Tribunal has also noted “lack of guidelines” on ownership of the land.
