The decision was taken after a minor explosion near Dange chowk in Thergaon on August 17 injured a five-year-old boy Piyush Walunj. The accident occurred when a hanging internet cable wire came in contact with an overhead high tension (HT) electricity wire.

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation acts against dangling cable wires: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has directed all cable TV operators to remove their wires hanging over street poles, roads and other municipal properties by August 31.
