महापालिका आयुक्त डॉ. श्रीकर परदेशी यांनी कामाचा ठसा उमटवताना शहराच्या नियोजनबद्ध विकासाला महत्त्व दिले. शिवाय प्रशासकीय कामकाजातील सुधारणांकडे अधिक लक्ष वेधले आहे. वशिलेबाजीने भरती झालेले काही कर्मचारी, राजकारण्यांची मर्जी सांभाळणारे अधिकारी वर्षानुवर्षे एकाच ठिकाणी खुर्चीला चिकटून होते. प्रशासकीय साफसफाईचे पाऊल उचलल्यानंतर आयुक्तांनी बदलीचे सत्र अवलंबून या प्रस्थापितांना धक्का दिला. महापालिकेचा पगार घेऊन पुढारी, बिल्डरांचे हित जोपासणार्या बांधकाम, नगररचना विभागातील संस्थानिक अधिकार्यांचे स्थानांतरण करून ‘डीटीआर रॅकेट’ची साखळी तोडली आहे.
