Pimpri Chinchwad city declared 9th cleanest in India and 1st in Maharashtra
Great achievement!! Pimpri-Chinchwad declared as 9th Cleanest city in India and 1st in Maharashtra by Union govt of India. Govt has surveyed 73 cities with a population of more than 10 lakhs recently. The idea is to measure where the Swachh Bharat or Clean India mission is making the most inroads. Mysuru in Karnataka, Chandigarh and Tiruchirapalli in Tamil Nadu are in the sweet spot of Top 3. Maharashtra's two cities bagged #TopTen slot, Pimpri-Chinchwad placed at 9th and Greater Mumbai at 10th position - Announced today by Venkaiah Naidu, the Urban Development Minister, Govt of India

PCMC makes it to the top ten in the clean cities list, PMC misses by a whiskerThe twin township of Pimpri-Chinchwad has been ranked ninth, having scored 1564 out of a 2000 marks in the cleanliness index, in Swachh Survekshan 2016, an all-India survey of cities. Pune has claimed a ranking of 11 in the survey conducted under the Bharat Mission launched by the central government in October 2014. While Mysuru in Karnataka has claimed top spot, Greater Mumbai is in the 10th spot.
Pune-Lonavala connectivity: PMRDA sanctions Rs 380 crore for new train tracks
