Making a difference: Now, Maharashtra cops to become tech-savvy

Police head constable Ravindra Ingavale, who has been credited with the development of over 20 computer programmes for Pune and other districts, was recently felicitated at a Computer Awareness convention, organised by NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau) in New Delhi. His innovative “Complaint Application Management System” that enables police officials in the state to type and read complaints in Unicode Marathi font, which was earlier done in either English or fragmented Devanagari that was difficult to read and interpret, won second prize at the convention.
