चिंचवडमध्ये पोपटाच्या पिलांची सुटका: नागरिक आणि पक्षिमित्रांच्या जागरूकतेमुळे चिंचवडगावात विक्रीसाठी आणलेल्या पोपटांच्या सुमारे २० पिलांची रविवारी सुटका करण्यात आली. कात्रज येथील प्राणीसंग्रहालयात त्या पिलांना दाखल करण्यात आले आहे.

निगडी-भोसरी रस्त्यावर केएसबी चौक ते गवळी माथा दरम्यान रात्रीच्या वेळी सर्रास वेश्या व्यवसाय सुरू असतो. यासंदर्भात पोलिसांकडे तक्रार करूनही दखल घेतली जात नाही, अशी तक्रार नागरिकांनी केली आहे.

गेल्या काही महिन्यांपासून या ठिकाणी रात्री ८ ते मध्यरात्रीपर्यंत रस्त्याच्या दुतर्फा काही तृतीयपंथी उभे असतात. अश्लील चाळे करीत रस्त्याने जाणार्‍या वाहनचालकांचे लक्ष विचलित करण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात. त्यांच्या या प्रकाराला अनेकजण बळी पडत असल्याची नागरिकांची तक्रार आहे. निगडी-भोसरी मार्ग रहदारीचा असूनही वेश्याव्यवसायावर कारवाई होत नाही. पोलीस जाणूनबुजून दुर्लक्ष करीत असल्याचा आरोप नागरिक करीत आहेत. तृतीयपंथीयांबरोबरच गेल्या महिनाभरापासून काही महिलाही या ठिकाणी उभ्या राहात आहेत. औद्योगिक परिसरात काम करणारे बहुतांशी कामगार रात्रपाळी संपवून घरी जाताना त्यांना लुटल्याचे प्रकार या ठिकाणी होत असल्याची तक्रारही कामगारवर्गाकडून केली जात आहे. या रस्त्याच्या दोन्ही बाजूने उतार असून झाडी आहे. त्याचा फायदा घेत सर्रासपणे वेश्याव्यवसाय तसेच लुटालुटीचे प्रकार होत आहेत. बेअब्रू होण्याच्या भीतीने तक्रार करण्यास कोणीही पुढे येत नाही. त्यामुळे काही कारखानदारांनी यासंदर्भात पोलिसांकडे तक्रार केली आहे. मात्र, पोलीस दुर्लक्ष करीत असल्याने कारखानदारही संभ्रमात पडले आहेत. या गंभीर प्रकाराबाबत तातडीने कारवाई व्हावी, अशी मागणी नागरिकांनी केली आहे.
