Low voter turnout feared as polling date precedes Good Friday and weekend

Even though the district election authorities are aiming for more than 70 per cent voter turnout, as desired by the Election Commission, it remains to be seen how far the target would be achieved considering that the polling date of April 17 for Pune district will precede Good Friday, followed by a weekend.

मतदार नोंदणीच्या तारखेवरून झालेल्या घोळानंतर अखेर पुण्यातील चार लोकसभा मतदारसंघाच्या निवडणुकीसाठीची अंतिम मतदारयादी आज, मंगळवारी प्रसिद्ध होणार असल्याची माहिती जिल्हाधिकारी सौरव राव यांनी दिली.

नगरसेवक जावेद शेख विरुध्द मारहाणीचा गुन्हा

राहत्या घराचे भाडे मागितले म्हणून राष्ट्रवादी काँगेस पक्षाचे नगसेवक जावेद शेख व अन्य दोघांनी एका घरमालकास मारहाण केल्याचा प्रकार आकुर्डी, दत्तवाडी येथे रविवारी (दि. 30) मध्यरात्री घडला. या प्रकरणी निगडी पोलीस ठाण्यात अदखलपात्र गुन्हा दाखल करण्यात आलेला आहे.

या प्रकरणी दत्ता बाळू काचरकर (27, रा. दत्तवाडी, आकुर्डी) याने नगरसेवक जाबेद रमजान शेख, अली खान आणि सय्यज खान या तिघांविरुद्ध तक्रार दिली आहे.
निगडी पोलिसांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, दत्ता याच्या मालकीच्या खोलीमध्ये अली हा भाडेतत्त्वावर राहत आहे. खोलीचे थकलेले भाडे मागण्यास दत्ता गेला असता भाडे देण्याच्या वादावरून नगरसेवक व इतरांनी त्याला मारहाण केली अशी तक्रार काचरकर याने दिली आहे.
