एन्काउंटर स्पेशालिस्टचा ‘गेम’ फसला

पिंपरी : कुख्यात गुंडांचा एन्काउंटर करणाऱ्या पोलिस अधिकाऱ्याचाच गेम करण्याचा प्लॅन काही गुन्हेगारांनी रचल्याची धक्कादायक बाब उघड झाली आहे. यासाठी परराज्यातून मोठ्या प्रमाणात पिस्तुले आणून या अधिकाऱ्यावर थेट गोळीबार करण्यात येणार होता. विशेष म्हणजे दोन वेळा दोन भिन्न टोळ्यांनी या अधिकाऱ्याला लक्ष्य करून त्यांनी केलेल्या एन्काउंटरचा बदल घेण्याचे प्लॅनिंग केले होते. परंतु, त्यापूर्वीच पिंपरी-चिंचवडमधील अन्य गुन्ह्यांत दोन्ही टोळ्यांना अटक झाल्याने त्यांचे मनसुबे उधळले गेले.

Pune Police chief says serious about resolving knotty traffic issues, seeks ideas from residents

Two days after Pune Newsline reported about Ajit Pawar getting a taste of Pune’s traffic jam, days after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was caught in a similar logjam, the Pune Police is waking up to the need to find a solution to the traffic snarls. Taking “first concrete” steps of its kind, Pune Police Commissioner Rashmi Shukla Tuesday asked the residents of Pune city and Pimpri-Chinchwad to exchange ideas to solve the city’s traffic issues by tweeting @CPPuneCity with the hashtag #MYCureForTraffic.

Sangvi gas crematorium shut for days

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation at Sangvi has been closed for several days causing major inconvenience. "A neighbour died 12 days ago, but he could not be cremated at the gas crematorium as it was closed. We had to cremate him in a traditional manner using wood," said Keshav Kedari, a resident of Old Sangvi.
