Snake catchers write to municipal chief for a solution, say they haven’t even been paid for rescues that amount to 500 a month
As many as 500 snakes have been caught in a month within the Pimpri- Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) limits, but there is no facility to provide shelter to these snakes, which has become a major cause of concern for snake catchers working with PCMC. The twin towns of Pimpri and Chinchwad have, over time, brought within their fold many villages from the fringe areas. However, PCMC-run Bahinabai Chaudhary Zoo at Akurdi has no more space for accommodating the snakes.
