PUNE: A special drive on Saturday generated 9,444 new voter registrations and saw the collection of 13,512 voter application forms.
Citizens, however, felt the drive could have been more successful if there was more public awareness. Now, the Pune District Cooperative Housing Federation, the Pimpri Chinchwad Federation and nearly 26 mohalla committees have decided to help the election officials in spreading the word on the voters’ registration and publicising the other special enrolment drive scheduled on July 28. They will be meeting the election officials on July 21 with their offer.
