Divn to get 3 centres for hurt wild animals

Forest dept to set up rescue and treatment facilities for Sahyadri belt, for which a feasibility report is ready; experts laud the move
With the template of the successful Wildlife SOS Manikdoh Leopard Rescue Centre in Junnar in mind, the state forest department has narrowed down on three spots to set up rescue and treatment centres for wild animals, to address the rising numbers of injuries in this faunal demographic. The centres are planned to be put up at Taljai Hills, Kushgaon and Bhugaon Road, catering to a wide variety of animals like deer, antelopes, elephants, monkeys, snakes, birds and water birds. A feasibility report for the same has already been made, to get an idea of how the project will be implemented on ground.
